Taking Safety Seriously

In our continuing commitment to maintain the safety of our employees, Hickory Construction has filled the new position of Environmental, Safety and Health Specialist.
Shane Greenway recently brought his expertise to Hickory Construction where he will oversee all aspects of our safety program. A former consultant at Allied Safety and East Tennessee Mechanical Contractors, Shane worked with commercial, construction and Department of Energy clients.
Earning his Professional Safety Certification in 1996, Shane is DOE Contractor Q Qualified. He is a member of the American Society of Engineers, National Safety Council and the Environmental Institute. Shane was awarded a Medal of Excellence from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for his work as a Site Safety Officer in 2004-05 during Hurricanes Frances, Ivan, Charlie & Jean.
Hickory also welcomes Michelle Barillaro as our newest Project Coordinator. Previously a Project Manager at Architectural Services Group in Knoxville, Michelle will coordinate construction projects for Hickory’s commercial division.
Barillaro has worked as both Project Manager and Project Architect in the construction industry for nearly 10 years. She holds a bachelors degree in architecture from the University of Tennessee and is a member of the American Institute of Architects.
