Hickory Construction Inc. is set to start on a third military installation in East Tennessee.
The Alcoa-based company won a $9.7 million contract to build a 45,000-square-foot Army Reserve center in Chattanooga, the U.S. Department of Defense said Tuesday.
Jim Pack, Hickory's vice president of commercial operations, said Wednesday the company had been particularly interested in winning the contract for the Chattanooga facility because the new Army Reserve center will be located adjacent to another Hickory Construction project: a new communications training complex for the 241st Engineering & Installation Squadron of the Tennessee Air National Guard.

(ALCOA, TN) – Michelle Barillaro has joined Hickory Construction, Incorporated as Project Coordinator. She was previously a Project Manager at Architectural Services Group in Knoxville. In her new role at Hickory, Barillaro will coordinate construction projects for the company’s commercial division.
Barillaro has worked as both Project Manager and Project Architect in the construction industry for nearly 10 years. She holds a bachelors degree in architecture from the University of Tennessee and is a member of the American Institute of Architects.

(Newport, TN) - Hickory Construction has completed a 4200 sq. ft. dental office in Newport. The office is one of more than 20 professional dental offices constructed throughout the East Tennessee region by the Alcoa, Tennessee based general contractor.
The new Westmorland Cosmetic and Family Dentistry facility features a fully digital practice and paperless office. Skylights and exposed timber trusses offers light and space to patients and practitioners. The office was designed by Brewer Ingram Fuller Architects, Incorporated of Knoxville.
