Job Descriptions

Estimator

  • Must have general working knowledge and understanding of all types of construction planning/specifications and scheduling that may be applicable to the projects undertaken.
  • Must have knowledge about all materials, equipment, and processes used on construction projects.
  • Possess excellent communication and personal skills necessary for working with clients, employees, co-workers, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Possess negotiating skills for securing timely, economical, and equitable contracts and purchases.
  • Be proficient in use of computers and estimating software. Experience in use of Timberline estimating software a plus.
  • Manage multiple tasks or assignments. 
  • Residential and Commercial preferred.

Res. Const. Manager

  • BS in construction management or engineering preferred.

Field Manager

  • Have thorough working knowledge and understanding of all types of construction.
  • Be knowledgeable about all materials, equipment and processes used in the construction industry.
  • Properly evaluate the work of all labor and crafts within the assigned area of responsibility.
  • Be thoroughly knowledgeable of proper safety procedures.
  • Be able to perform on-site supervision of the field work of subcontractors and crew and adjust the application of resources to obtain the best results.
  • Ensure, through frequent checking, that basic building qualities of accurate layout, level, plumb, square, etc. are achieved in all phases of the construction.
  • Specifically orient each assigned subcontractor concerning their scope of work and schedule.
  • Have the ability to complete all projects on time, according to specifications and within budget.
  • Demonstrate professional management, communication and appearance to the client, superiors and subordinates.

Superintendent

  • Have thorough working knowledge and understanding of all types of construction
  • Be knowledgeable about all materials, equipment and processes used in the construction industry
  • Properly evaluate the work of all labor and crafts within the assigned area of responsibility
  • Be thoroughly knowledgeable of proper safety procedures
  • Be able to perform on-site supervision of the field work of subcontractors and crew and adjust the application of resources to obtain the best results
  • Ensure, through frequent checking, basic building qualities of accurate layout, level, plumb, square, etc. are achieved in all phases of the construction
  • Specifically orient each assigned subcontractor concerning their scope of work and schedule
  • Have the ability to complete all projects on time, according to specifications and within budget
  • Demonstrate professional management, communication and appearance to the client, superiors and subordinates
  • 3 Years of Construction Experience Required

Foreman

  • Have the ability to perform high level construction duties with little supervision. Duties include, but are not limited to: lay-out footings; form steps and concrete slabs; use leveling instruments; frame floor, stair, wall and roof systems; apply interior and exterior finishes.
  • Make available and maintain tools necessary to do required work.
  • Manually work with tools and materials of the trade to efficiently accomplish the assigned job.
  • Have the ability to identify, correct and report nonconformance by subcontractors or other employees.
  • Possess the ability to think ahead on the work process to increase efficiency.
  • Keep a clean and orderly work area and job site.
  • Be familiar with HCI safety policy and use safe work practices at all times.
  • Assist with aspects of management of HCI projects as requested by supervisor.

Journeyman

  • Manually work with tools and materials of the trade to efficiently accomplish the assigned job.
  • Have the ability to identify and report nonconformance by subcontractors or other employees. 
  • Be familiar with HCI forms and able to use purchase orders, log books and safety manual. 
  • Assist with aspects of management of HCI projects as requested by supervisor. 
  • Have the ability to oversee jobs in the absence of the Field Manager.
  • Possess the ability to perform high level construction duties with little supervision. Duties include, but are not limited to: lay-out footings; form steps and concrete slabs; use leveling instruments; frame floor, stair, wall and roof systems; apply interior and exterior finishes. 
  • Report to your supervisor any problems affecting the smooth flow of the work. 
  • Demonstrate professional performance, communication and appearance to the client and co-workers. 
  • Be familiar with HCI safety policy and use safe work practices at all times.

Craftsman

  • Possess knowledge of technical construction, skills and equipment as necessary to perform specialized operations or duties.
  • Be prepared to work alone or with other crew members.
  • Think ahead on the process of the work to increase efficiency.
  • Keep up-to-date on new methods, procedures, tools, and products available.
  • Make available and maintain tools necessary to do required work.
  • Manually work with tools and materials of the trade to efficiently accomplish the assigned job with minimal supervision.

Carpenter

  • High end trim-out such as
    • Built-ins and cabinets
    • Stairs and rails
    • Timbers and beams
    • Crown, casing and all moldings
  • Own tools
  • Transportation and drivers licenses
  • 10 yrs+ experience
  • Work well with others
  • Self motivated
  • Willing to work extra hours as needed 
  • Safety minded

Apprentice

  • Self motivated, willing to learn and work

Assistant Construction Mgr

  • Located at the project site, will assist in monitoring of the project.
  • Assists in the implementation of technology projects, both administrative and/or instructional.
  • Assists in coordination of various events in the planning, ordering, installation and follow-up cycle.
  • Participates in corrdinating the personnel required to complete project.
  • Assists with managing paperwork and mulitple technology projects, maintains and updates status logs, and contibutes to progess reports.
  • Knowledge of project management.
  • Be proficient in use of computers. Experience in use of Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Construction Laborer

  • Self motivated, willing to learn and work
  • Works with tools; basic carpentry skills needed
  • Willing to work extra hours as needed
  • Drivers license and transportation
  • Performs lifting, clean-up and various labor task

Receptionist / Secretary

  • Manage all incoming phone calls, taking messages and ensuring receipt of those calls/messages by appropriate persons
  • Greet guest and assist them as they arrive
  • Receive, open and date all incoming mail and prepare/distribute to appropriate persons and deliveries
  • Accurate Word/Excel processing and typing, grammar correction, proofreading correspondence/documents including but not limited to letters, billings, faxes, memos, job review and miscellaneous correspondence
  • Filing: job invoices, purchase orders, correspondence, AP invoices, etc.
  • Close out of job files, scan files and saves on CD
  • Operate, monitor and maintain office equipment
  • Keep lobby area, conference room and work area tidy
  • Assume and perform other duties and responsibilities not specifically outlined herein but which are logically inherent of this position or as assigned by the Office Manager
