In the Construction Zone

Hickory is adding to its portfolio of successful LEED projects and residential projects are taking off in early 2011.

  • LEED Gold operations building is scheduled for completion in late January for the 134th Refueling Wing of the Air National Guard at McGhee Tyson Air base in Alcoa, Tennessee.
  • A 26,000 sq. ft. LEED Gold maintenance support facility is on track for a mid-February completion at the Melton Valley operation of Oak Ridge National Laboratories.
  • In December, Hickory is broke ground on a new 3-level home in Walland which features locally quarried stone, cedar siding, an elevator and dumb waiter.  A renovation in the Sequoyah Hills neighborhood of Knoxville will result in a new entry, new garage-to-home connector and a new green house.
  • 2011 is off to a great start as Hickory gets approval to begin construction on two new homes: a west Knoxville lake home and another home in Walland.
