Having an affinity for numbers and being good with math have served Jason Gibson well in his position as an estimator with Hickory Construction. Prior to stepping into that role two and a half years ago, Gibson spent his first few years at Hickory managing projects in the field. It’s an experience that he says prepared him well for his current duties, which involve meeting with clients and architects and estimating costs based on each job’s specific needs.
“To do my job well, you have to have a good background in the field first,” Gibson says. “You definitely need that experience to come up with an accurate budget.”
A Virginia native, Gibson earned a degree in construction engineering from East Tennessee State University and brings 14 years of experience to the Hickory team. His projects have ranged from kitchen and bath remodels to the ground-up construction of multimillion-dollar homes.
