Hickory Bucks Economic Trends With Steady Growth

Despite tepid growth in new construction nationwide, not to mention a statewide economy that’s predicted to make only modest improvements this year, Hickory Construction is as busy as it has been in its 37-year history, according to Vice President of Marketing John McMillan.

“Residential construction continues to grow, and commercial projects have really taken off for us during the last 12 months,” McMillan says, noting that the company has seen a 28-percent increase in new-construction projects during that time frame. “We’ve seen a nice uptick in contracts from medical and dental, educational, automotive and an overall wide variety of commercial buildings.”
