IN THE NEWS: Sweetwater Fire Hall

Hickory Construction, Inc. was recently awarded a contract to begin construction on a new fire hall for the Sweetwater Fire Department. A committee comprised of Sweetwater city officials made the recommendation to the city commission based on Hickory’s bid.
“Being awarded this job is a great honor for Hickory Construction,” said senior estimator Jason Gibson. “We are thrilled to have the opportunity to provide our services to the community of Sweetwater.”
Located on New Highway 68, the fire hall will be situated in a high-growth area of town and will help improve the city’s emergency-response services. In addition to providing storage for two fire trucks, the new facility will have two bedrooms with kitchen areas as well as two bathrooms to comfortably accommodate the number of firefighters during each shift.
Project manager Chris Duncan plans to execute construction promptly in order to have the fire hall finished by January.
