Executive Vice President
With more than 30 years’ experience at Hickory Construction, Jim has been witness to much of the company’s history since transitioning from submarine service in the United States Navy to a career in construction in 1984. In the decades since, he worked his way up from apprentice carpenter to foreman to field manager and ultimately, his current position as a vice president.
In that capacity, Jim is responsible for the supervision and organization of all production operations, including overseeing the staff as well as ensuring clear communication, quality control and relationships between project participants. He is also responsible for all aspects of human resources, from team development to employee training and coaching.
Jim is a Certified Green Professional through the National Association of Home Builders, and he is also a volunteer and past member of the board of directors for the Blount County Habitat for Humanity. When he’s not working, he enjoys music, the outdoors and spending time with his family.
